Western Loop Trail Description

This trail is accessed from the Promenade Trail and has trail heads at both the south and north end of the preserve. The trail length is 1.2 miles with an elevation gain of nearly +600'. The difficulty is rated at "moderate to difficult" and switchbacks abound. This trail is not recommended for bikes. Trail surfaces vary greatly from south to north faces as do the views. Once at the trail's crest (over 3,000') the hiker enjoys unending views including downtown Phoenix.
