We had a good turn out for
the Open House; nearly 200 persons including staff attended. SCFH signed
up two new persons for trail building, two for guiding and sold several of the
new T-shirts. Attendees consumed four gallons of ice cream.
"Crash" Marusch had a full house of over 50 persons listening to his talk of
what is going on in McDowell Mountain County Park.
Liberty Wildlife presented for
three hours with much audience participation. There were booths displaying
programs and membership forms from the McDowell Mountain Park Association, the
Sonoran Land Trust, and the Sonoran Conservancy of Fountain Hills.
Additionally, the SCFH conducted four scheduled hikes to the Western
Loop, the Town Overlook, the Promenade, and the Town Lake Overlook trails during
the month.
